Professional manufacturing of pull bows requires cutting equipment and is a
very labor intensive and time consuming process. Pull Bows are
manually assembled. Almost all pull bows you see on the market are being
imported.
You
can still make pull bows for a personal use by simply copying pattern of
those that you purchased or follow these instructions:
Arm
yourself with patience. Use wired edge ribbon or floral satin flat, embossed
or metallic ribbon.
For
a large 9" pull bow, you will need approximately 6 yards of at least 2" wide
ribbon and same length of curling ribbons per bow. You will also need tiny
florist wire cut in small, approx. 1" wide pieces that you will use
instead of plastic fasteners.
1.
Fold each strip of ribbon in half. At the point of foliding, make two
short diagonal cuts on both sides to create a narrow neck as shown in figure
1. Be careful not to completely separate ribbons when cutting as they have
to stay connected connected.
2.
Fold the curling ribbon in half and tie it to the neck of the wide ribbon
so that you now have same length of wide and narrow (curling) ribbon on both
sides.
3.
Position narrow ribbons in between and paralel with two wider folded
ribbons.
